Synopsis

A monk rescues a drowning boy only to be repaid by the boy’s disturbing glare. The young boy appears to a grieving couple who has just lost their child. But it is uncertain as to whether the child is the reincarnation of their son or a ghost. The disturbingly sad yet beautiful movie directed by Lee Sang-il of Villain and Hirokazu Kore-Eda.

LEE Sang-il

Lee Sang-il is Korean-Japanese film director and scriptwriter. He directed Border Line and Hula Girls and he won the Best Director and Best Screenplay prizes at the 2007 Japanese Academy Awards, achieving both commercial success and high praise. His other major works include Sixty Nine, Scrap Heaven and Akunin.

KORE-EDA Hirokazu

Kore-eda Hirokazu directed numerous television documentaries before making his debut film Maborosi which won the Venice International Film Festival"s Golden Osella Award. Major works include Wonderful Life, Nobody Knows, Still Walking and Air Doll.
