Synopsis

Oscar, a gourmet cannibal, burns with love for the neighbor in his building, the Miss Carrot. She is a vegetarian, while he suffers from a total phobia about vegetables. Things take a drastic turn the evening she invites him to dinner.

Program Note

This film is a romance between a man who likes to eat human flesh as dessert, Oscar, and a vegetarian woman who likes to eat carrots. The strong primary colors used reminds us of Tim Burton’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, which realizes the fantasy genre like a fairy tale. The abundant orchestral music and colorful subtitles make up a stylish modern edition of silent film. The romance between the man and the woman is cute and the dilemma that they go through because of different eating habits is similar to that of a vampire movie. (CHAE So-ra)

Diretor

Axel COURTIÈRE

Axel Courtière is an independent filmmaker based in Paris. He is specialized in mixing fiction and animation. After graduating from ESAG Penninghen in Paris, Axel directed a fantastical short film The Last Man (2013). Axel is currently writing his first feature film, Le Coeur Fou.
